Shorthorn's of the 80's were tall and narrow made. They taller the better. Tended also to be flatter made. Aytollah was a big bull back then. There were some others as well.
Double Vision did NOT ruin the breed. Although a double carrier his father brought the showring shorthorns forward. For every ten you say are bad there are 15 that are good. I have a Double Vision that milks great and catches AI every time. Have had some in the past. I would only use him for a terminal cross today.
