To answer your second question, Chill factors make wonderful females. Not so much show cattle, but are valuable as replacements for their maternal abilities. If you are stuck with using a simmy or simmy influence, I would probably go with SOS, Dream on or One of his sons, or Mama's Boy. I have my show heifer bred to Mamas Boy this year. If you want to go another route, it is hard to beat a good angus bull like Northern Improvement, Cowboy Up, Lutton, or various others. For maines and clubby influence, it is hard to beat Ali, or Dirty Harry.
